Bibby wants to remain a Hawk
Written by cthomas on May 12, 2009 – 6:36 pm -After last night’s disaster the Hawks faithful gets some news that could perhaps lift the spirits of those who watched the Hawks get completely outplayed by the Cleveland Cavaliers last night.
RealGM is reporting that Mike Bibby, the Hawks big free agent point guard acquired in the middle of last season, wants to remain in Atlanta.
As great as this is, this is also really shakes up the Hawks draft thoughts. Flynn appeared the be the Hawks target if Bibby ended up leaving this offseason. Well, now that he wants to stay with Atlanta who do the Hawks look to build with in this summers draft? Could this mean they go center or power forward? Perhaps, but only time will tell.

Braves boast best Spring Training record in baseball
Written by cthomas on March 18, 2009 – 10:06 pm -The Braves have dominated competition this spring and shown that perhaps the future in Atlanta is the brighest. Hanson has been dominant along with the rest of the pitching staff, excluding Glavine. The Braves battled the Mets today and won 7-4 as Hanson pitched four innings giving up two unearned runs as the Braves continue to dominate.
Some more good news has to be Chipper is back with the Braves and won’t risk further injury with Team USA and will take a break to heal and get ready for the opener. Same situation with newly acquired Brave Garrett Anderson who will likely miss the rest of Spring Training, but be ready for opening day.

LJ Smith will not sign with the Falcons
Written by cthomas on March 16, 2009 – 9:32 pm -Good news struck today when the AJC reported L.J. Smith was not going to sign with the Atlanta Falcons. Smith has been on bad terms with Eagles management and fans the last couple of seasons. His poor blocking and dropped passes has led to the current situation he’s in right now.
Falcons fans all over should be rejoicing because in the run heavy offense the Falcons run adding Smith would be a downgrade at the TE position.
The Falcons, however, are still without a TE and may have to add one through the draft.

Mike Peterson reunites with coach Smith
Written by cthomas on March 10, 2009 – 5:25 pm -After a quiet couple of weeks the Falcons have finally made a move in free agency; replacing Keith Brooking with former Jaguar Mike Peterson. Peterson played under Smith while he was the defensive coordinator in Jacksonville and should be a good fit in Smith’s scheme.

Chipper Jones strains oblique in WBC
Written by cthomas on March 9, 2009 – 5:57 pm -Chipper has just never been able to catch a break. Although it seems as of right now it will not keep him out for long and is feeling ok. That is a good sign and losing him for significant time just isn’t an option this early in the season.
